PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect short circuit in the inside of a battery in an early stage.SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: acquiring a full-charge capacity of a battery from a storage unit at discharge; measuring a first voltage applied to the battery at a first time and measuring a second voltage applied to the battery at a second time; deriving a first charge rate of the battery based on the measured first voltage and deriving a second charge rate of the battery based on the measured second voltage; calculating a theoretical value of capacity change of the battery by multiplying the absolute difference between the first and second charge rates by the acquired full-charge capacity; acquiring an actual value of capacity change of the battery from the first time to the second time; and determining whether the theoretical value is lower than the actual value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
