PURPOSE:To produce color markings with mass productivity in a smaller number of stages, by etching marks by half etching without carrying out machining or press working and by coating the etched marks by electrodeposition. CONSTITUTION:A quick-drying water soluble photoresist 4 removable by alkali development is applied to the surface of a hardly machinable SUS hoop 1 of about 0.2mm thickness windowed by pressing and the resist 4 is dried. Each marking area 5 is exposed through a mark of a slender character and the mark is etched by half etching to a prescribed width and depth. The etched mark is then color-coated by electrodeposition with the resist 4 as a masking agent to form a film 6. After the film 6 is dried and baked, the resist 4 is removed with alkali and gold plating is carried out. |
