PURPOSE:To provide the single crystal-growing method facilitating to control the orientation of the crystal and capable of producing a crystal core fiber having a desired diameter and shape. CONSTITUTION:When an organic material is fed into a capillary and simultaneously when the capillary is moved to grow the single crystal, the hole 3 for the movement of the capillary is heated with heating means 5, 5' set to different temperatures, respectively, and disposed in the hole-nipping state to form a temperature gradient in the direction orthogonal to the axial direction of the capillary. The orientation of the crystal is controlled by the temperature gradient formed in the direction orthogonal to the axial direction (in the cross-sectional direction) of the capillary. |
