PURPOSE:To reduce adhesion of tailings at the time of color developing by forming a thermal color developing layer containing color developing substance and developing substance on a support, and then coating the layer with overcoating liquid containing colloidal inorganic silicate and water soluble high-molecular weight compound. CONSTITUTION:In order to manufacture a thermal recording sheet, a thermal color developing layer containing color developing substance and developing substance for color developing the color developing substance at the time of heating as main ingredients is first formed on a support. Then, the layer is coated with overcoating liquid containing colloidal inorganic silicate or colloidal inorganic silicate and water soluble high-molecular weight compound and/or high-molecular weight compound hard soluble in water. Incidentally, the silicate is non-water soluble inorganic silicate, and its fine particles are swelled in water to be dispersed in colloidal state. The overcoating layer is formed by forming coating fluid as water colloid or emulsion, coating with it and drying it. |
