Provided is a method for preparing a detergent, wherein the detergent is superior in rinsability, flowability, storage stability, and solubility in cold water. The method for preparing a detergent comprises the steps of: (S1) mixing detergent components to prepare detergent component particles using a high-speed mixer having a stirring shaft equipped with blades within a mixing tank; and (S2) rotating and drying the mixed detergent component particles at the same time using heat of steam passing through a tube. The S2 step is carried out using a rotary steam tube dryer.
