An electrophoretic display and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reflect even light applied from a side of the electrophoretic display to the front of the electrophoretic display, thereby improving luminance that a user located in the front of the electrophoretic display feels. In a first substrate(110), a first electrode(118) made form transparent material is formed. In the first electrode, plural optical patterns of a concave shape for improving front reflectivity are formed in a pixel unit. A second substrate(120) is disposed in a location facing the first substrate. In the second substrate, a second electrode(126) is formed. A partition(130) is interposed between the first and second substrates, and partitions a space between the first and second substrates. An image display layer(140) is filled within the space formed by first and second substrates and the partition, and displays an image by an electric field formed by the first and second electrodes. |
