PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apartment house which achieves good ventilation in each dwelling unit, is proof against the risk of privacy invasion of residents in each dwelling unit, and has a high commercial value imparted thereto. SOLUTION: The apartment house includes a central common use space 5 consisting of an open ceiling section 2, a common corridor section 3, and an elevator section 4. Then each of the dwelling units 6 having an almost rectangular shape in plan, has a contact surface 7 facing to the common corridor section 3, in which an entrance 12 is secured but a window is not formed. Further each dwelling unit 6 having the almost rectangular shape in plan is arranged on the periphery of the central common use space 5 such that at least either one of surfaces 8, 9 of each dwelling unit 6 having the almost rectangular shape in plan, adjacent to the contact surface 7 facing to the common corridor section 3, and a surface 10 opposed to the contact surface 7 facing to the common corridor section 3, have windows 13 formed therein.
