PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boom of a crane in which the structure of a communication means for transmitting identification information on each boom section is simplified. SOLUTION: This boom of the crane comprises a plurality of booms 11 generally forming a boom body 3 of a predetermined length by connecting them in order starting at the crane body 2 side, processing units 4 installed on the booms 11 and outputting the identification information on the booms 11, a central processing unit 5 installed on the crane body 2 side of the boom body 3 and communicating with the processing unit 4, and a communication part 25 electrically connecting, in series, the processing units 4 of the central processing unit 5 and the booms 11 to each other in order starting at the crane body 4 side toward the end of the boom body 3, and transmitting the identification information outputted from the processing unit 4 to the central processing unit 5.
