PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding device capable of stably binding a bag opening end part by an adhesive tape in a state of stopping a bag for binding. SOLUTION: The binding device has a press plate 1 having a guide surface 2 for guiding an adhesive tape N, and a guide surface 12 which can get close to/apart from the press plate 1 and forms with the guide surface 2 when it gets close to, and has a tip end chip 10 for forming an empty space S for receiving an opening end part E of the bag to be pursed up with the press plate 1, a vertically deformable paper tape retaining member 20, and a cutter 31 for cutting the adhesive tape N to be bound. The tape retaining member 20 has a paper tape retaining part 21 which introduces a paper tape K attached to an adhesive face of both end parts of the adhesive tape N to be bound and a turn-back plate 22. When the paper tape retaining member 20 passes above the empty space S to be lifted, it bonds the adhesive face of the adhesive tape N to be attached to the adhesive face of the adhesive tape N on the guide surface 2 above the empty space S to turn back, and attaches the paper tape K to the adhesive face of the adhesive tape N on the guide surface 2.
