PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element having high conversion efficiency.SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion element comprises, on a substrate 106, a pair of electrodes 101 and 105, an active layer 103 arranged between the pair of electrodes 101 and 105, and buffer layers 102 and 104 arranged between at least one of the pair of electrodes 101 and 105 and the active layer 103.
