Disclosed are a data processing method and apparatus. The method comprises: a client sending to a server a feature identifier of a user in a current data processing process (100); receiving processing capability information, returned by the server according to the feature identifier of the user, about the user for at least one data processing method (101); the client determining a candidate data processing method displayed to the user and a display method according to the processing capability information about the user for at least one data processing method (102); and the client displaying the candidate data processing method to the user in accordance with the display method to enable the user to select a target data processing method from the candidate data processing method for the current data processing process (103). The efficiency for a user to select a data processing method can be improved, and the execution efficiency of data processing is improved.
