PURPOSE:To provide an integrated circuit with a self-heat-generation suppressing function which operates while suppressing the self-heat-generation. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor 3 provided in the same integrated circuit as a CPU body 1 detects the temperature of a chip, and the detection results are supplied to a clock and peripheral circuit control circuit 4. The clock and peripheral circuit control circuit 4 controls operations of an integrated circuit so that the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 3 can be controlled between a supremum value and a lowest limit value set by a temperature setting circuit 5.
