The invention relates to a brush holder (10) for accommodating a carbon brush (12), having a guide housing (11) in which the carbon brush is accommodated and arranged in a longitudinally displaceable manner, wherein the guide housing has guide walls (13, 14) for forming a sliding contact with the carbon brush, and at least one guide wall (13) has an extension (22), which is connected in an elastically resilient manner to the guide wall and projects into an accommodating chamber (17), defined by the guide housing, such that abutment against a side surface (15) of the carbon brush blocks sliding movement of the carbon brush in the guide housing, wherein the extension (22) is formed on a carrier element (21) which is arranged in a window opening (20) of the guide wall, spans the window opening and is connected to the guide wall at each of its two axial ends. |
