PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece capable of improving the esthetic appearance of the movements and high-speed movements of its hour and minute hands driven by a plurality of motors. SOLUTION: The electronic timepiece has a first motor, a second motor, and each driving means. The first motor driving means performs the load compensation drive of detecting rotation at least after the output of a normal drive pulse and outputting a compensation drive pulse in the case of the detection of nonrotation.
