PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate high AC voltage having an arbitrary waveform.SOLUTION: An AC voltage generation apparatus comprises: a pulse voltage generating circuit 31 that outputs an AC pulse voltage Vp; a multistage voltage rectifier circuit 32 that generates a high DC voltage Vh by rectifying the AC pulse voltage Vp; a first discharge resistor 33 that is connected between an output terminal 32a and a reference potential G of the multistage voltage rectifier circuit 32; a capacitor 34 having one end connected to the output terminal 32a of the multistage voltage rectifier circuit 32; a second discharge resistor 35 connected between the other end of the capacitor 34 and the reference potential G; and a control circuit 36 that controls the pulse voltage generating circuit 31 to change the duty ratio of the AC pulse voltage Vp to thereby generate, in the multistage voltage rectifier circuit 32, the high DC voltage Vh obtained by superimposing a high voltage AC component Vhac onto a high voltage DC component Vhdc. The high voltage DC component Vhdc is removed by the capacitor 34, and the high voltage AC component Vhac is generated as AC voltage. |
