PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open top container that is able to restrict fatigue breakdown of each side wall and wear of each side wall, resulting from scrap conveyance, compared to a container that has a conventional side wall made of plain steel.SOLUTION: There is provided an open top container 10 which comprises a bottom wall 12, a front wall 13, a rear wall 14, and a pair of side walls, the ceiling portion of which is opened, and in the internal space of which scrap S is loaded. In the open top container, the one pair of side walls are formed of a wear resistant steel plate. Reinforcement ribs made of a belt-like plate of the same material are vertically projected from the external surfaces of these side walls and fixed thereto. Each reinforcement rib is inclined by a predetermined angle with respect to a vertical direction on the external surfaces of the facing side walls and extending straight from the upper end of the side wall to the lower end thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
