PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a fluorinated alkane with which high-speed processing and high selectivity can be attained at the same time. SOLUTION: An input stream containing a fluorinated olefin (for example, hexafluoropropene) and a reducing agent (for example, hydrogen gas) is preferably brought into contact with a first amount of a catalyst (for example, Pd) to produce the fluorinated alkane at a first conversion level, wherein a first output stream contains the unreacted fluorinated olefin and reducing agent; and the first output stream is brought into contact with a second amount of the catalyst under the conditions effective for a higher conversion level than the former conversion level.
