PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a correlation of a direction comparatively correctly and prevent the generation of a false color when performing pixel interpolation. SOLUTION: Photodiode groups S1, S2 and S3 are regulated. The photodiode group S1 contains photodiodes B<SB>2,2</SB>which correspond to view pixels, and is constituted of photodiodes G<SB>1,1</SB>which are positioned at upper lefts of the photodiodes B<SB>2,2</SB>, and photodiodes R<SB>3,3</SB>which are positioned at lower rights of the photodiodes B<SB>2,2</SB>. The photodiode groups S2 and S3 adjoin the photodiode group S1 and are parallel to the photodiode group S1. In the groups S2 and S3, the proportion of a color of a color filter which is formed on a constituting photodiode PD is the same as that of the photodiode group S1. A correlation of the direction of the view pixels is found by using image data obtained based on the photodiode groups S1, S2, and S3, and the pixel interpolation (formation of R image data and G image data) of the view pixels is performed by using a filter corresponding to the correlation of the direction.
