PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric compressor using a motor for rotating a rotor of a compression mechanism to compress sucked gas, while using the sucked gas for efficiently cooling portions of a stator coil of the motor.SOLUTION: A groove 5h is formed on an outer peripheral face 5g of a rotor 5b. Refrigerant sucked into a suction chamber 7b is made to flow from an end face 5i of the rotor 5b into the groove 5h, and the refrigerant in the groove 5h is diffused to the radial outside of the rotor 5b with centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the rotor 5b and sprayed to the inner peripheral face of a stator 5c. The sprayed refrigerant is made to flow out of the end face 5i of the rotor 5b into the suction chamber 7b while passing through an air gap G between the rotor 5b and the stator 5c, and turned around from the coil end of the stator 5c to the side of the outer peripheral face to sufficiently cool a coil 5d of the stator 5c with the refrigerant.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
