PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately notify information on landmarks which change every moment and are useful for a driver. SOLUTION: A landmark element determination section 15 sets adjacent areas of a destination and the present position of a vehicle from route information as a search range for searching for landmarks and calculates an appearance element V<SB>d</SB>, a meaning element S<SB>d</SB>, and a position element L<SB>d</SB>on the basis of the decision results of the traveling direction of the vehicle. An importance determination section 16 calculates the importance I<SB>d</SB>of landmarks within the search range on the basis of the appearance element V<SB>d</SB>, the meaning element S<SB>d</SB>, and the position element L<SB>d</SB>and selects a landmark having the largest calculated importance value to be a landmark to be presented. A presentation apparatus 13 allows a presentation section 19 to present the landmark selected beforehand together with a map. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
