PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the circuit size of a data storage device by integrating an accumulator and a FIFO into one body. SOLUTION: For using a dual port RAM 5 as an accumulator, a directly supplied write address or read address is selected by selecting circuits 2 and 4. In the dual port RAM 5, in accordance with the writer address or the read address, supplied data are stored or read. On the other hand, for using the dual port RAM 5 as a FIFO, in accordance with a supplied PUSH or POP, a write address or a read address generated by a pointer 1 or 3 is selected by the selecting circuits 2 and 4. In the dual port RAM 5, in accordance with the write address or the read address, supplied data is stored or read. |
