PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a mobile station location in a base station in a mobile communication system using a multiple station scheme, the method being hardly affected by radio interference and dispensing with separate installation of a location detection support system. SOLUTION: The base station includes a plurality of antennas 9 forming a radio zone, respectively; a radio section 8 for obtaining a detection data stream from reception signals of the antennas 9; an FEC decoding section 6 for obtaining the number of error symbols in each detection data row; a system selection section 14 for selecting a system of which the number of error symbols is minimum, from a plurality of systems composed of the antennas 9, the radio section 8 and the FEC decoding section 6; an output switching section 15 for selecting and outputting data of one system according to a result of the selection; a selection result counting section 13; and an onboard station location determination section 12. The number of times of selecting each system is accumulated for a predetermined period of time by the selection result counting section 13, cumulative values 26 of selection times of the systems are compared to determine the system of highest reception quality by the onboard station location determination section 12, and it is detected that a mobile station moves to the radio zone of the determination system.
