PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To commonize optical paths guiding laser beams from under a lens holder to objective lenses into one while maintaining an excellent operation characteristic of the objective lenses in a lens actuator and an optical pickup device which switch two objective lenses and use the objective lenses. SOLUTION: In a moving coil type lens actuator, the first objective lens 11 and the second objective lens 12 are arranged symmetrically with respect to the axis of rotation of the lens holder 14, and the lens holder 14 is configured so as to be turnable by 180 degrees or more. Driving of the objective lenses 11 and 12 in a tracking direction is obtained by rotation due to axial sliding of the lens holder 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
