PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame rod and a flame detecting device using the same, free from deterioration even when it is repeatedly brought into contact with flame for a long period, and capable of keeping its performance and reliability over a long period and elongating its service life. SOLUTION: This flame rod 3 used in the flame detecting device 1 of a burner 5 and disposed in a state that it can be brought into contact with the flame of the burner 5, comprises a frame rod main body 6 capable of being kept into contact with the flame, an electric connection portion 13 capable of distributing power to a part kept into contact with the flame, of the flame rod main body 6, and a refrigerant flow channel formed in the flame rod main body 6 to allow a cooling medium to pass therethrough.
