摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic welding method of a single-sided coil type for joining a ferrous material and an aluminum-based plate material, by which a joint part having a high strength and excellent reliability is obtained regardless of kind and combination of the materials to be joined. SOLUTION: When welding an aluminum-based plate material 2 to a ferrous material 1 by making use of an eddy current and electromagnetic force that are generated in the aluminum-based plate material 2 by allowing a current flow through a coil 4, the welding is conducted, according to the surface hardness of both members 1, 2 to be joined, with the joining energy satisfying the following formula: E≥(0.00557×Hv<SB>FE</SB>+0.0768×Hv<SB>AL</SB>+0.498)×t<SB>AL</SB>, wherein E is a joining energy per unit area of a joint part (J/mm<SP>2</SP>); Hv<SB>FE</SB>is a surface Vickers hardness of a steel material (Hv); Hv<SB>AL</SB>is a surface Vickers hardness of an aluminum-based plate material (Hv); and t<SB>AL</SB>is a thickness of an aluminum-based plate material (mm).
