A tyre support 10 for building a pneumatic tyre has a substantially circular body and comprises a plurality of radially extending fingers 24 which are each moveable relative to the body between an extended position and a retracted position. When the fingers are in the extended position, the support defines an external periphery corresponding to an intended final shape of a pneumatic tyre.
