<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power storage device with high capacity, high discharge voltage, and high energy density. <P>SOLUTION: The power storage device comprises a positive electrode including a positive electrode active material on a positive electrode current collector, and a negative electrode that is opposite to the positive electrode via an electrolyte. The positive electrode active material comprises a first region including a compound containing lithium and one or more of manganese, cobalt, and nickel, and a second region covering the first region and including a compound containing lithium and iron. The formation of the second region containing iron for a surface layer part of the positive electrode active material can lower the energy barrier at lithium insertion and desorption on a surface of the positive electrode active material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
