PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste water treatment apparatus and method which can remove ammonia from digestive fluid after methane fermentation processing efficiently.SOLUTION: Digestive fluid after methane fermentation processing which nitrogen-containing organic waste water is methane fermented is processed to remove ammonia under aerobic condition existing organic acid utilization bacteria converting ammonia contained in the digestive fluid to nitrogen gas and using organic acids contained in the digestive fluid. An ammonia removal processing tank 13 performing ammonia removal processing by the organic acid utilization bacteria comprises: a digestive fluid inflow route 12 that the digestive fluid flows into; an ammonia removal treated water outflow route 14 that ammonia removal treated water after the ammonia removal processing flows out; aeration means 16 to keep the digestive fluid in the processing tank aerobic condition; and a gas discharging route 17 discharging gas generated in the processing tank. |
