<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus realizing the prevention of the lowering of productivity at the time of double-sided printing in a full range of colors. <P>SOLUTION: After finishing the transfer of the image of a 1st side from a 1st image carrier 1 to a 2nd image carrier 10, the 2nd image carrier 10 is separated from the 1st image carrier 1 and reversely rotated to a specified position. Then, the image of a 2nd side is transferred from the 1st image carrier 1 to the upper side of paper and the image of the 1st side is transferred from the 2nd image carrier 10 to the lower side of the paper. By changing a traveling condition that the speed of the 2nd image carrier at the time of reversely rotating is set to double, the productivity at the time of double-sided printing is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
