Provided is a power conversion device, which enables to reduce design/production cost, and furthermore, which enables a user to freely make combinations into two configurations corresponding to an installation area for installing the power conversion device, said two configurations being a horizontally placed configuration, and a vertically placed configuration. This power conversion device that converts power by controlling a switching element by means of a control circuit is provided with a first housing having the switching element, and a second housing having the control circuit. The first housing has a first housing height H1, and has a first portion having a depth L1 and a width W2, and a second portion having a depth L2, and a width W1-W2, the second housing has the second hosing height H1, and has a first portion having the depth L1 and the width W2, and a second portion having a depth L1-L2, and the width W1-W2. The power conversion device has a first configuration of having a housing having a width W1+W2, the height H1, and the width L1, and a second configuration of having a housing having the width W1, the height H1, and a depth L1+L2, in the cases where the first housing and the second housing are connected to each other. |
