A beverage dispenser for use with a removable bottle (15) including means (7) for receiving the bottle (15) in an inverted position, means (9, 13) for receiving and transferring beverage from the bottle (15) to a heat exchanger (16). The heat exchanger (16) includes an input port (19, not shown) for receiving incoming beverage from the receiving means and an output port (35, not shown) connected to a dispenser (27) for outputting beverage to a user. A passage (21, not shown) connects the input and output ports for transferring beverage therebetween and the passage (21, not shown) including means (such as a spiral or a serpentine path) for substantially preventing mixing between beverage entering the heat exchanger and beverage within the passage adjacent the output port. A cooling device (29), preferably thermo-electric cooling element, is provided for cooling the heat exchanger (16). |
