PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of plasma display panel capable of obtaining excellent displaying property by stabilizing supplying quantity of coating liquid supplied from a spray gun. SOLUTION: On a forming process of a crystalline MgO layer 342, the coating liquid prepared by dispersing MgO powder in solvent is coated on a thin film MgO layer 341 by a spray method. Dispersant containing hydrophilic group and hydrophobic group is added to the coating liquid. MgO powder is well dispersed in the coating liquid by the dispersant, and stable quantity of the coating liquid can be supplied from the spray gun. A uniform crystalline MgO layer 342 can be formed by the spray method to uniformize delay of discharge and probability of discharge at respective discharging cells of the PDP, and the PDP with uniform brightness and excellent scanning property can be obtained.
