<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant which has flowers of a novel variegated flower color such as a bicolor, comprising non-acylated anthocyanins and acylated anthocyanins. <P>SOLUTION: The process produces a plant having petals comprising a transposon inserted into a gene encoding a new acyltransferase protein, the non-acylated anthocyanins, and the acylated anthocyanins by use of the transposon.
