PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved feeder to prevent undesired thread entanglement. SOLUTION: The feeder (17; 37) for feeding a cloth (15) while operating a sewing machine (1) comprises at least one feed sections (28, 28a) which are designed for mutual friction action with the cloth (15) and perform feeding movement in a needle plate recess part of a needle plate, and a base body (29). On the base body 29, the feed sections (28, 28a) are formed by the base body and the feeder firmly coupled to a feeder carrier, and thus the feeder is attained. An edge contour (32) of the feed sections (28, 28a) verges to an edge contour (33) of the base body (29) in projected plane view of the attached feeder (17). COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
