<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to perform various kinds of compositing processing between information (image information or character information) transmitted from an external device such as a camera-equipped exclusive slave set (or camera-equipped cellar phone) with original image information read with a device body without requiring any instruction operation. <P>SOLUTION: When composite processing mode starts, a main control section 16 determines an order of compositing original image information and reception information (image information or character information) on the basis of an original reading timing using a scanner 11 and reception timing of the information (image information or character information) from a slave set 2. That means, when the information is received from the slave set 2 before start of original reading with the scanner 11, the original image information read as continuing part of the reception information is composited.
