The present invention relates to a simulation system using a head mounted display (HMD) and a control method thereof, comprising: an HMD including an image display unit to display a virtual environment image which includes a virtual operation panel; a camera to capture a motion of a users hand performed on a blue screen; a captured image analysis unit recognizing the motion of the users hand from an image captured by the camera to determine a position of the users hand and a user input with respect to the virtual operation panel; a virtual environment image generation unit synthesizing an image of the users hand in an image of the virtual operation panel to generate a panel image, and performing simulation according to the user input to generate a driving image; and a control unit generating the panel image synthesized with the image of the users hand and the driving image simulated in accordance with the motion of the users hand according to the motion of the users hand inputted to the camera, so as to display the virtual environment image in the HMD. Thereby, even if an HMD hiding vision of a driver is used, the driver can realize a simulation environment by accessing an operation panel. |
