A bale shape sensing system for bales is disclosed. The system comprises a channel (22) having a right wall (24) and a left wall (26) for receiving crop material, a plunger (20) reciprocating in the channel (22) to compress flakes (29) of crop material into bales. In order to detect malformation of the bale it is proposed to provide a right device (40) and a left device (42) mounted respectively on the right wall (24) and the left wall (26) for measuring relative movement of the flakes (29) whereby the malformation of the bale (31) is sensed. Furthermore, a baling device with such system and a respective method is disclosed. |
