A stretcher (1) is provided that comprises: a patient support (2); a base (4); a connection member (6), the connection member (6) being pivotaliy connected to the patient support (2) and pivotaliy connected to the base (4) such that the patient support (2), the base (4) and the connection member (6) can form a Z-shape with a first angle (8) at the corner of the Z-shape between the patient support (2) and the connection member (6) and a second angle (10) at the other corner of the Z between the base (4) and the connection member (6); a first angle adjustment device (12) for controlling the first angle (8); and a second angle adjustment device (14) for controlling the second angle (10), wherein the first angle adjustment device (12) and the second angle adjustment device (14) can be operated independently of each other. A method of loading and unloading a stretcher (1) from an ambulance is also provided. |
