1. A system useful for controlling power consumption by integrated circuitry, comprising:
a voltage regulator configured to provide regulated power to a load comprising integrated circuitry of a system-on-chip (SOC), the voltage regulator including circuitry for determining a digital signal indicative of load current; phase-locked loop (PLL) circuitry configured to provide a plurality of clock signals, each of the plurality of clock signals at a different frequency signal indicative of current operating frequency to be used by a system-on-chip (SOC); and a decision block configured to generate a selection signal for selecting one of the plurality of clock signals, for use by the integrated circuitry of the SOC, based on a currently selected clock signal and the signal indicative of the load current. |
