PURPOSE: An activating method of cathode for CRT is provided to prevent the generation of dark spots on an electron radiation substance layer(4) and obtain a cathode having very stable cathode current density by applying anode current(la) of current activation front end in lower value than anode current(la) of current activation rear end or by applying the first electrode current(lg1) of current activation rear end in lower value than the first electrode current(lg1) of current activation front end. CONSTITUTION: The present invention discloses an activating method of cathode for CRT comprising: a step applying anode current(la) of current activation front end in lower value than anode current(la) of current activation rear end or applying the first electrode current(lg1) of current activation rear end in lower value than the first electrode current(lg1) of current activation front end.
