PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having weld strength with less variation and no voltage drop failure after a negative electrode collector is welded to a negative electrode terminal.SOLUTION: In this nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, an electrode body including a positive electrode and a negative electrode and a nonaqueous electrolyte are housed in a battery case, and the negative electrode includes the negative electrode terminal and the negative electrode collector 22. The negative electrode collector 22 is composed of a negative electrode active material layer forming part 24 and a negative electrode active material layer non-forming part 23, and a chromate film forming copper foil the surface of which is chromated is used as the negative electrode collector 22. The negative electrode terminal is joined to a part of the negative electrode active material layer non-forming part 23. Also, a copper oxide coating layer 28 made of a copper oxide is formed on at least the joined portion to the negative electrode terminal on the surface of the negative electrode active material non-forming part 23 and a part of the periphery thereof. |
