A worm drive power tool includes a driveshaft, a worm, a seal member, and a shield. The driveshaft is configured to rotate about an axis of rotation. The worm is configured for rotation with the driveshaft. The seal member includes an inner seal defining a shaft opening through which the driveshaft extends. The inner seal extends radially away from the axis of rotation no more than a first distance. The shield is mounted on the driveshaft between the worm and the seal member. The shield extends radially away from the axis of rotation for at least a second distance that is equal to or greater than the first distance.
