摘要 PURPOSE: A dynamic frequency control technique using coarse clock gating is provided to change a rate assaulting an enable signal regarding a root clock signal without halting operation of a functional unit receiving an operational clock signal. CONSTITUTION: An IC(10) includes a clock generation unit(11) combined to generate a root clock signal. The root clock signal is a broad band clock signal capable of being routed to each functional part through a coarse clock gating unit(14). A lock signal is distributed to functional units through a clock tree. Each coarse clock gating unit is combined to receive each clock enable signal from a clock control unit(12). The clock control unit assaults a CCLKEn0 signal. The coarse clock gating unit provides a Clk0 to each combined functional part. A functional part includes multiple different synchronization circuits.
