<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resol-type phenolic resin having both toughness and heat resistance. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the resol-type phenolic resin comprises reacting a modified phenol, a phenol and an aldehyde. The modified phenol is obtained by reacting a phenol and anα,β-unsaturated ketone, particularly such as acrylamide. The resol-type phenolic resin is obtained by reacting anα,β-unsaturated ketone, a phenol and an aldehyde, and a friction material comprising the resol-type phenolic resin is also provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
