Disclosed are a functional water purifier capable of generating functional water suitable for drinking such as carbonated water or oxygen water, and a method for controlling generation of functional water. According to the present invention, the functional water purifier comprises: a filter unit of filtering raw water; a functional gas supply unit of supplying a functional gas; a functional water generating tank of generating functional water by dissolving a functional gas supplied from the functional gas supply unit to the purified water supplied from the filter unit; an extracting unit of extracting the functional water from the functional water generating tank; and a controlling unit of controlling opening and closing of a purified water supply valve connected to the filter unit and a functional gas supply valve connected to the functional gas supply unit to regenerate the functional water in the functional water generating tank when the extraction accumulated time in which the functional water is extracted in the extracting unit exceeds the preset extraction set time. Before a water level of the functional water generating tank is to be a low water level, in order to regenerate functional water in the functional water generating tank, the extraction set time is set to the extraction time corresponding to an extraction amount before a water level of the functional water generating tank is to be a low water level. As pressure of the functional water generating tank is uniformly maintained, so as to stably extract functional water, the controlling unit is capable of controlling opening and closing of the functional gas supply valve to supply a functional gas to the functional water generating tank during the initial set time after power is input. |
