PURPOSE:To access a required position of a disk within a short time by accessing a disk based on disk information stored in a storing means and reproducing the accessed contents. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with a disk position detecting means 9 capable of detecting a prescribed position on a disk 2, a reading means 3 for reading out disk information every detected prescribed position of the disk 2 prior to the reproducing of the disk 2, a memory means (microcomputer memory) 10 for storing the read disk information correspondingly to the prescribed position, and a specifying means for specifying reproducing from an optional position of the disk. When reproducing from an optional position of the disk 2 is specified by the specifying means, the disk 2 is accessed based on the disk information to reproduce the contents of the disk. Thus, a required position of the disk 2 can be accessed within a short time.
