1. A method for reducing organic phosphorus acid content in an effluent water stream, comprising:
providing the effluent water stream comprising one or more organic phosphorus acids; adjusting the effluent water stream to reach an optimal pH level from 4 to 6 to form an adjusted water stream; and adding a metal salt to the adjusted water stream to form a precipitant with the one or more organic phosphorus acids and thereby reducing the amount of organic phosphorus acids contained therein; wherein at least 80% of organic phosphorus acid is removed from the effluent water stream. |
