A automatic simulation method, in which a computer-compatible description of a load /stress acting on the joint is specified and in each case a computer-compatible design model is given for each component. The stress-calculation comprises the steps that for each volume element of the jointed-connection a tensile stress (sigma n) a bending stress (sigma b) and a shear stress (tau) occurring in the volume element is calculated, and a value (f) is calculated for parameters depending on these three stresses in the volume element.
