PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage type water heater capable of positively restricting accumulation of scale inside a heat exchanger or the like for heating water.SOLUTION: A storage type water heater 1 comprises: a heat exchanger [liquid-water heat exchanger 38] for heating water; a hot water storage tank 8 for storing hot water heated by the heat exchanger; a circulating path for connecting in an annular manner a lower taking-out port 8b at the lower part of the hot water storage tank 8, a heat exchanger, and a lower returning port 8c at the lower part of the hot water storage tank 8; a pump [a water circulation pump 11] for circulating water in the circulating path to cause water taken out of the lower taking-out port 8b to return from the lower returning port 8c to inside of the hot water storage tank 8 via the heat exchanger; and a capture tool [a scale capture tool 18] for capturing scale contained in water passed through the heat exchanger when water is circulated at the circulating path. The lower returning port 8c is placed at a position that is a lower side in a vertical direction as compared with that of the lower taking-out port 8b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
