PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide protocol header analysis equipment and packet communication apparatus, capable of reducing the processing the load on a CPU. SOLUTION: The protocol header analysis equipment 200 sequentially analyzes the protocol headers of a received packet at an L2 header analysis unit 210, an L3 header analysis unit 220, and an L4 header analysis unit 230. An ESP trailer analysis unit 250 analyzes a subsequent header number, indicating a front-end header of an inside header included in an ESP trailer region. An analysis result aggregation unit 240 performs classification processing on an outer header and the inner header that are obtained by the foregoing procedure to output the analysis result 201 of the received packet.
